Due to the Autism and ADHD focused nature and online delivery format of our assessments, we do have some unavoidable limitations on the type of clients that we are able to work with. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide the type of assessment services that would be legally and ethically appropriate for individuals with more complex mental health backgrounds. Examples of complex issues that would block us from being able to provide services include: current substance use challenges, any recent suicidal ideations or attempts, any past incidents of psychosis, any history of mental health related hospitalizations, previous diagnoses or suggestions of BPD, traumatic head injuries etc. We will provide all potential clients with a client suitability form to complete as part of the new client registration process and will be able to confirm the client suitability for our services only upon the return of that form.
Not Long! We regularly update our current waitlist times on the landing page of our website. The entire process is then completed within a few weeks time.
We at the Neuro-Divergent Team do not require a referral. However, while rare, some insurance providers do require this so please check with your insurance provider if you are unsure.

An important part of our comprehensive assessment process is gathering questionnaires and interview data not just from you but also from another person who knows you well. This provides us with vital information from another perspective. Your secondary responder will be emailed questionnaires to complete and asked to participate in a 2hour zoom interview. A Secondary Responder is a parent, partner, sibling, other relative or long-time friend – basically anyone who knows you really well and for a significant period of time.
We do not have physical offices. We provide online assessment services to adult residents of Ontario and British Columbia. All of your interviews will be conducted via private meeting room in Zoom.

Yes! Adults seeking assessment for ASD and ADHD typically have more subtle presentations of symptoms. They have often learned elaborate coping techniques or ‘masking’ strategies to overcome their underlying challenges. As such, some of the common screening tools can be prone to missing these individuals as they can appear very ‘high functioning’. Our assessment process purposely incorporates tools designed to measure and account for masking/coping strategies. Additionally, one of the reasons our assessment process involves such a high amount of 1:1 interview time (3-4 hours) is due to the importance of being able to look deeper into behind-the-scenes masking and coping techniques and gather more comprehensive and insightful data than most questionniare-focused assessments can.
Yes! Dr Morgan is known for her expertise in diagnosing women and girls on the Autism Spectrum, with other professionals often referring complex cases to her. Both ASD and ADHD can present very differently in women and, as such, they are chronically under-diagnosed and under-supported. Dr. Morgan has enjoyed honing her expertise in working with unique neurodivergent women for over a decade. Our assessment process takes into account the fact that women with ASD present differently then men and we utilize tools designed to capture this. We put minimal reliance on questionnaires which tend to be biased towards capturing the male experience of ASD and we include in depth interview time to deep-dive the differing ways in which women often experience symptoms of ASD.
The most commonly known tool for assessing ASD in children is the ADOS. However, amongst experts in diagnosing high-masking individuals, women, and the adult age-range it is NOT considered the best tool for use for a wide range of reasons. For example, adults with autism will often have factually learned how to correctly respond to questions about social cues or engage in basic small tasks and can ‘pass’ these ADOS test items despite these skills not coming naturally or being comfortable to perform. As such adults with ASD Level 1 that have learned camouflaging and masking skills are often missed when using the ADOS.
Instead of the ADOS we use the Royal College of Psychiatrists Diagnostic Interview Guide for the Assessment of Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This structured clinical interview tool is designed specifically for high-masking or ‘able’ adults with potential ASD and involves 1.5-2 hours of interviewing with the adult being assessed and an additional 1.5-2 hours of interviewing with a secondary reporter who knows them well.
Additionally, we include standardized questionnaire tools specifically designed to capture the typical masking behaviours of individuals who have made it to adulthood without previously being diagnosed, such as the Camouflaging Autistic Traits Questionnaire.
